In college, my roommate Eric & I would stay up late in our dorm room playing music & singing these “storytelling lyrics” I’d write about college angst (like trying to find the courage to sit next to a ‘way out of my league’ pretty sorority sister at the dining hall). Eric believed in what I was trying to do. He would play the tapes we recorded together all the time. 1 time after a long drive with his girlfriend he came into our room upset.  He told me that he had been playing 1 of our songs on the car stereo & asked his girlfriend, “Do you think someday we’ll hear Adam on the radio?”  She laughed at him and said, “No!” Her answer really pissed him off. It meant so much to me at that moment (& still to this day), that he was so affected by this. “She’s wrong!” he told me defiantly. Well, this week I can be heard on the Moth Radio Hour, across the country, telling a story. Thanks Eric!
